George Penna, the beloved owner of Villa Penna and a cherished member of the local community, passed away on November 24, 2024, at the age of 74. Known for his immense warmth, dedication, and unwavering strength, George leaves behind a profound legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
George’s greatest joy was his family. As a devoted husband to Silvana, he shared a deep and enduring partnership, one that was a testament to love and mutual respect. As a father, George was incredibly proud of his sons, Frank and Carlo, whom he mentored and supported with boundless affection. His role as a grandfather to Liliana, Francesco, and Carlo brought him immeasurable happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.
Beyond his immediate family, George was a beloved brother to Tony Penna, Mary Lou Penna, and Sandy Polidori, and his love extended to his many great nieces and nephews, who adored him. His family was the center of his life, and his commitment to them was evident in every aspect of his being.
George’s legacy extends far beyond his family, however. As the owner of Villa Penna, George played an instrumental role in making the restaurant a beloved institution in the community. For many years, Villa Penna was not just a place to enjoy a meal but a gathering spot where families and friends celebrated milestones, shared laughter, and created memories. Under George’s leadership, Villa Penna became synonymous with hospitality, warmth, and exceptional service, earning it a special place in the hearts of all who visited.
But it wasn’t just the success of the restaurant that defined George—it was his unwavering commitment to his community. Whether through acts of kindness, charitable contributions, or simply being a pillar of support to friends and neighbors, George Penna made an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he encountered. His devotion to others, his generosity of spirit, and his ability to make others feel valued were qualities that endeared him to all.
While his passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt, George’s legacy of love, family, and community will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His warmth and devotion will continue to guide his family, friends, and everyone who had the honor of being part of his remarkable life.
